Matthew Levinson is a strategic communications consultant with more than a decade’s experience developing and delivering effective traditional and digital campaign strategies at the local, state and national level.
He provides counsel on communications strategy, issues and crisis management, messaging and narrative, stakeholder engagement, social media strategy and media relations.
As former head of communications for the Lord Mayor of Sydney and GetUp, he has experience coordinating large, city-scale communication and community engagement projects, driving rapid response communications, issues management and positioning and advising senior leaders.
Matthew was a researcher/producer on ABC TV’s flagship science program Catalyst, a radio broadcaster for FBI Radio Sydney and ABC Radio National, communications manager for food, urban and climate research at CSIRO, blogger, freelance journalist, editor and scientist. He conceived and executed the crowdfunded journalism project Shipping News resulting in major investigative pieces including a Walkley Award winner (2015), he was part of a Eureka Prize winning team for innovative solutions to climate change (2009) and was selected as one of Creative Sydney’s top 100 new talents (2010).
